This church is about 800 years old and consists of a chapel and a nave that must have been built in the 11th or 12th century.

In the door that gives access to the church you can read the following inscription: "N. S. Da LUS 1615" and in the other door on the same side you can read: "Remember this Lord with his alms."

In 1614, the lord of the Casa da Costa, Jorge da Costa Mesquita, ordered the construction of the chapel on the left side of the nave.

In 1674 the chapel was built on the right side of the central nave. It was restored in 1979 and was re-intervened at the level of its interior in 2003.
