Church of Fontarcada

The Church of Fontarcada, whose true name is Church of San Salvador, is located in the parish of Fontarcada (or Fonte Arcada) in the municipality of Povoa do Lanhoso.

The building is of a single nave, wide and tall, with wooden deck, three portals and a vaulted chapel. Its construction dates from the end of the 13th and 14th century, at the end of the Romanesque period, and was part of a Benedictine monastery built in 1607, of which nothing remains.

In the 16th century it was restored and in 1910 it was declared a National Monument.


Casa de São Vicente de Cima is inserted in the Quinta de São Vicente. It is a typical Minho house, with private pool, situated in the Geraz do Minho valley, in the district of Póvoa de Lanhoso, Braga district, ideally located to visit the Peneda Gerês National Park, Braga, Guimarães and many other places of interest.
