Prozelo Bridge

The Prozelo Bridge, also known as the Port Bridge, is a medieval bridge built in granite, which consists of eleven arches and crosses the river Cávado.

This bridge is located in the parish of Prozelo, between the municipalities of Amares and Braga. His name "Port" comes from the archaic galician-portuguese and means "checkpoint".

According to a local legend, this bridge was built so that in a single night, the men could conquer the land on the other side of the river with stones brought by the women who came from Terras de Bouro, about 30 kilometers from the area .

It was classified as a National Monument in 1910.


Casa de São Vicente de Cima is inserted in the Quinta de São Vicente. It is a typical Minho house, with private pool, situated in the Geraz do Minho valley, in the district of Póvoa de Lanhoso, Braga district, ideally located to visit the Peneda Gerês National Park, Braga, Guimarães and many other places of interest.
